Police Recover 554 Stolen Animals, Seize Weapons in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has recovered 554 animals stolen by suspected bandits in Kafur Local Government Area of the state.
The police said the incident happened in the early hours of February 6, 2026, when armed bandits invaded Sabuwar Kasa village and stole cows and sheep. The attackers escaped before security officers arrived.
After getting the report, police officers from Malumfashi Division, working with the military and members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, tracked the suspects and confronted them. The criminals were forced to flee after a gun battle.
A total of 554 animals were recovered, including 290 cows and 264 sheep.
