The Lagos State Task Force has launched a major crackdown on illegal street traders across the city, targeting areas like Ojota Junction, Iyana-Ipaja Under Bridge, and Egbeda Junction
During the operation, 15 offenders were arrested, and their goods seized, as authorities enforce regulations to prevent highway encroachment and traffic obstruction. Areas targeted include Marina, Davies Street, and Breadfruit Street, where traders were causing environmental issues and safety hazards.
The Lagos State Government is committed to maintaining orderly roads and ensuring public safety. Traders are urged to comply with regulations to avoid penalties.
The crackdown has sparked mixed reactions, with some praising the move and others expressing concerns about livelihoods. The task force promises to continue enforcing the law while providing alternative solutions for affected traders.
